Easter update.

The last month I have started to do a lot more new things! I suddenly discovered I had a pair of small feet which I could play with and put in my mouth. Talking about mouth; I put everything I can get hold of in there to check and taste. A few pages in a book I've got I have nearly already eaten up!

I have also started to eat porridge every night and I really like that and looking forward to it every day.
It also makes me happy when they come and put on my clothes for going out either in the pram or my father carrying me in the babyholder. I like to look around watching people and things, but I always fall asleep too fast in there.
My father just bought a car and I like going out driving as well, can see a lot of things from my babychair and I also have a good sleep there.

Business Class to Europe

We had to go back to Norway and we did it in style. We had got tickets on business class on Air France to Paris and it was really nice. So much more space and big seats which could be made into a bed with the push of a button. The food was excellent as well; just like a nice restaurant.
I had a small cradle fastened to the wall in front of us and I had a good sleep there.
My father also took me on small walks around the airplane and it was a lot of strange things and many people to see.
We were half an hour late to Paris so we had to run a long way to catch the plane to Oslo and we did it just in time, I thought it was fun but I don't think my parents did.
All in all I think I behaved very good on the trip and that my parents were pleased with me.
I hope they will be next time as well.

Back to us

After nearly one and a half month away my father finally came back to us. I recognised him immediately and in a little while it was just like he hadn't been away at all.

My father said I had changed in many ways and developed quite a lot during this time. Most of all I started to make a lot of sounds and much more smiling and laughing as well.

Another big change was that I had learned to use my hands and catch things and also to hold my head stable myself without supporting it.

Winter holiday

My dad came from Oslo to Beijing and all I got was this lousy Polarn O. Pyret outfit!

A Letter from my dad!

It's about a month since I saw you and that's a long time and it's still about two weeks more until I will see you again. You are still in Beijing and I'm in Norway.
This is a time you are developing quickly and I guess I will see a big difference.
In fact you changed a lot only during the two weeks we were together in Beijing during Christmas.
Suddenly it was so much easier to have contact with you and you responded by smiling and laughing and trying to talk to us.
You started to use your hands trying to catch things and also you tried to put your fingers in your mouth, not always successfull but you improved all the time.
Your sleeping habits also changed a little and you slept much longer during night, normally only waking up one time for drinking milk and also sleeping longer in the morning.

Your mother tells me that you now are very clever using your hands catching things and that you easily can hold your toys.
A completely new thing you have started to do after I left is that you are using your voice much, much more and very strongly as well. And that you have a strong voice I can confirm because a few times when I have talked with your mother on the phone, I could hear you even you were not on the same floor.
I miss you very much and I'm really looking forward to seeing you again. There is one thing though that I wonder; will you recognise me? I've been with you every day for nearly three months; carrying you, changing your dipers etc and now it will be a break of one and a half month...will you remember? I'm not sure because you are still only a little baby, but I hope so.
On the other hand you have learned to know your Grandparents very well who have helped your mother looking after you during this period of time.
Your mother have sent a lot of nice pictures of you and I'm happy for that. A few times I've also seen you "live" through the computer...it was nice to see you and I noticed that you had changed a bit, your expression...and your hair starting to be more visible. It was strange though to see you, knowing you were so far away...I wanted to lift you out of the computer but unfortunately that's not possible. I have to wait a few weeks more to hold you and carry you around.

More pics from the bathtub

Bathing

My parents bought a kind of inflateable bathring. At first I didn't understand what was going on when they tried to put this thing around my neck, but anyway I didn't cry...I trust them almost whatever they do to me....

I really like bathing and now even more than before because of this big bathtub and with this thing around my neck I'm floating with only my head above the water and it feels nice to have the whole body in the nice warm water, I also immediately found out that I could swim with my legs and arms and I could move from one end of the bathtub to the other in a few seconds.

My 3 months Birthday

My Birthday was celebrated at a big Shanxi restaurant (my mother's home Province) in Beijing together with my Grandparents. The restaurant is quite special and nicely decorated. It was some traditional food and something special that they eat when babies are this age...it looked like some kind of cakes. If you want to know how the taste was, you have to ask my dad.

Gifts

When I came to China I got a special gift. It's a tradition in my Chinese family...a silver necklace goes from mother to oldest daughter in family. Since my mother is the oldest and only girl she got it for her baby and that's me.The day before I left Norway I also got another silver gift; a silver bracelet with the inscription of my name and birthday from one of my dad's aunts.

More pics from Amsterdam

My first trip to China

I'm less than 3 months old and a few days before Christmas I had my first flight. It was a cold day with snow we left Oslo and Norway. The first leg of my journey was to Amsterdam. All the time I have behaved so good that I don't think my parents were even nervous before this long trip. I cried a little bit at the beginning because it was so noisy and also because next to us was a small boy who cried all the time, but then my mother gave me some milk and everything was ok and I also got some sleep.

In Amsterdam we had a break and it was so much to see....so many shops, lights and Christmas decorations.

The airplane from Amsterdam to Beijing was soo big! We also got some special seats at the front of the middle row which was for babies. After a while they hung up a cradle on the wall in front of the seats in which I could sleep...and I did sleep a lot. In this airplane it was a steady low noise from the engines that made me sleepy. I don't think I was to much trouble for my parents. When I was not sleeping or eating my daddy walked around with me in his arms and a lot of people liked to look at me and smiled to me...and I smiled back to them...that's what I'm supposed to do, isn't it?

The flight took around 9 hours and my parents said I slept maybe more than half of that time.

Beijing greated us with sunshine but a bit cold. My Grandparents and one of my uncles received us at the airport and then we drove in mama's car to my new home in Beijing.

Still growing...and smiling

I was at the Health Center again today and guess what...I had put on 240 gr in exactly one week, so today I was 6430 gr.
The bad part of todays visit was that they gave me an injection again and oh, boy..it was painfull.
I was a bit sceptic at first because I think I remebered this place and the same thing happened last time I was there as well...so next time I come there I don't know what i will do! I can't promise to behave so good then as I have done so far.
Nothing to smile about today but the last few weeks I have started to smile and laugh more and more...I think my parents was a bit worried because I didn't smile in the beginning. Well, it was not that I wasn't happy but it was so many other things to consider...I had no time or energy.
But now it's ok, and I also found out that it pays to keep my parents happy!!

Christmas Party

Last weekend I was at my first Christmas party at Noa's home. Leah was also there. It was nice to see them again. Noa's parents and Regine had decorated the house nicely and also made traditional Norwegian Christmas food....it was good...at least so they say...I was not allowed to even taste it! Maybe next time I will.

To go there we travelled by train and I really liked that. It took nearly 1,5 hour but all the time I was sitting on my daddy's lap watching the landscape passing by...it was nice and even more interesting than TV..and so many screens!! I didn't sleep at all so I was tired when I arrived but I found it a bit difficult to sleep there...I have never slept anywhere else before and everything was so strange...not the same things I was used to seeing from my own bed so I couldn't relax properly and also it was a bit noisy, so many people and I'm not used to that either.

Anyway, it was a nice and very interesting day for me. I looked forward to go by train back again but then I was so tired that I slept all the way home.
